DOVE ‘Hair Catalog 2020 edition’

What a year of 2020, when Covid-19 pandemic changed our life remarkably. No outdoor shooting. No proper production. And Dove asked us to celebrate Vietnamese Women’s Day 20th October. So we came up with something different from what they usually did.

Introducing the ‘Hair Catalog 2020 edition’ - a collection of daily hairdos worn by our women, and observed by Dove. We noticed that the most trending hairstyles then were not the fancy hairdos or fabulous headdress, but the very down-to-earth ones since everyone spent most of their time indoors. Even though most of the hairstyles were too ordinary to be named, they helped our women accommodate to every context of their life and live it to the fullest. For this reason, 2020 made daily hairdos the most wearable fashion, where each of them has their own new names with meanings.

We shot the film with mobile phones and even asked our selected consumers to send in their hair moments. Inspired by the fact that virtual environment was our daily go-to destination during lockdowns, we created a collage of videos narrated via the exploration of folders and apps on computer, making it visually relevant yet refreshing to consumers.
